In Pakistan, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the Jafar Express on Tuesday and hijacked it. BLA issued a statement saying that 182 passengers have been held hostage, while 20 Pakistani soldiers have been killed. Bla also stated that he had killed a drone.

The attack took place at around 1 pm on the route of Quetta to Peshawar in Mashkaf area of ​​Bolan district of Balochistan. The Jafar Express is completely under control of BLA fighters even till 7:30 pm 6 hours later.

Last year, on the intervening night of 25 and 26 August 2024, BLA blew up a bridge between Kolpur and Mach on the route of this train. Due to this, the service of the train was stopped. The train service started again from 11 October 2024.

Bla attacks by taking advantage of the mountainous area

The Baloch Liberation Army has carried out the attack between Gudalar and Piru Kunri in Mashkaf of Boln. This is a mountainous area,Yes, there are 17 tunnels, due to which the train has to run at slow speed. Taking advantage of this, Bla attacked the train.

The Baloch Army first blew up the railway track in Tunnel Number-8 in Mashkaf. This led to Jafar Express derail. After this, BLA started firing. The driver of the train was also injured in the firing.

Security forces, police and ISI agents were traveling in this train. All were going to Punjab. He responded to BLA’s attack, but BLA captured the train. During this time 11 security personnel were killed.

On receiving information about the incident, the Pakistan Army fired on the BLA and also bombed the bombs from the wind, but BLA fighters somehow stopped the land operation of the army.

Pakistani army dispatched soldiers by train

The Pakistani army has sent a train to the attack place. In this, soldiers and doctors have been sent.

After this, the Pakistan Army immediately left a train towards this area, in which soldiers have also been sent to help. Pakistan minister Mohsin Naqvi said that we would not compromise with animals who opened fire on innocent passengers.

BLA released the statement, said- We blew up tracks

In a statement, BLA said that our fighters planned this operation in Mashkaf, Dhadar and Bolan. We blew the railway track, due to which the Jafar Express had to stop. After this, our fighters captured this train and took the passengers hostage.

The hostages include active duty staff of Pakistani Army, Police, Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), who were going to Punjab. We have left women, children and Baloch passengers and only Pakistani security forces personnel have been taken hostage.

The operation is headed by BLA’s fideline unit and Majeed brigade, which is supported by Fateh Squad, Stos and Jirab Intelligence Wing. If an attempt is made to conduct a military operation against us, then we will kill all the hostages. The Pakistani army will be responsible for this murder-e-man.

Two years ago, there was a blast in Jafar Express

On 16 February 2023, there was a blast in the Jafar Express, in which 2 people died. The blast occurred when the train was crossing the Chichavatni railway station. The attack was taken by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

At the same time, 26 people died in a blast at Quetta railway station on 14 November 2024 last year. More than 50 people were injured. Even then the responsibility of the attack was taken by the Militant Group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

In 2025, Pakistan was described as the second most terror -affected country in the world in 2025, the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) report released by Sydney -based Institute for Economics and Peace.

In the report, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was described as Pakistan’s most dangerous terrorist organization for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the group carried out 482 attacks, causing 558 deaths, which is 91% higher than in 2023.
