In viral footage on social media, the coaches of Jafar Express are seen overturning. However, the video has not been confirmed.

About 12 people were injured in a bomb attack on the Jafar Express train on Tuesday in Balochistan province of Pakistan. According to media reports, the attack occurred when the train going to Quetta was passing through the Spacend area of ​​Mastung district.

There were about 270 passengers in the train. In the attack, six bogies of the train derailed and a bogie overturned. Officials said this was the second blast in this area within 10 hours.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, another bomb blast took place near the railway track. At that time, Jafar Express going to Peshawar came out of Quetta station. The train was stopped for some time after the blast, but the security forces cleaned the track and allowed the train to move forward.

This footage of train overturning is viral on social media.

Railway track exploded by putting an IED

The local police confirmed that the second blast occurred due to an IED (improvised explosive device) on the track. A senior official of Pakistan Railway said that five passengers were injured in the overturned bogie, while the rest were injured by the passing of the nearby bogies.

Rescue teams and police immediately reached the spot and admitted the injured to the nearest hospitals. Railway officials said that if the train had been running at full speed, this accident could have been bigger. No rebel organization has taken responsibility for this yet.

Jafar Express was attacked in March also

The Jaffer Express was also targeted by Baloch fighters in March this year. Then this train was going from Quetta to Peshawar. During this time, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had hijacked it between Gudalar and Piru Kunri. The train had around 400-500 passengers, including military personnel and common citizens.

There was a 40 -hour fight between the army and the rebels. The army claimed that it had killed 33 fighters, while Baloch fighters said they had killed more than 100 Pakistani soldiers.

This video of the attack on Jafar Express in March went viral, although it was not confirmed.

Pakistan at number two in Global Terrorism Index

According to the Global Terrorism Index 2025, Pakistan has become the second most terror -affected country in the world after Burkina Faso, while it was fourth in 2024.

According to the report, Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are the most terror -affected areas. Out of the total terrorist incidents across the country, 90% occurred in this area.

In the report, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was described as Pakistan’s most dangerous terrorist organization for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the group carried out 482 attacks, causing 558 deaths, which is 91% higher than in 2023.
