Pakistan said that it was unnecessarily defamed regarding the terrorist attack in Australia. Information Minister Ataullah Tarar called it a conspiracy by enemy countries like India and Israel.

In a media briefing on Wednesday, he said that the aim of linking the attacker to Pakistan was to tarnish the image of the country. He said that allegations were leveled against Pakistan without any evidence and documents.

Tarar alleged that this false news was spread through social media and electronic media, especially in India and Israel.

He raised the question that how will the loss suffered by Pakistan due to false news be compensated? Will there be an apology or legal action taken? Tarar praised the Australian authorities, saying that they adopted a professional attitude in the investigation and did not accuse any country without evidence.

Tarar said that Pakistan has always condemned all types of terrorism and will continue to do so (file photo)

Sajid who carried out the terrorist attack was an Indian

Sajid Akram, the terrorist who attacked Jewish people on Sydney’s Bondi Beach in Australia on 14 December, was from India. 50 year old Sajid was originally from Hyderabad, Telangana.

He did B.Com from Hyderabad and moved to Australia in November 1998 in search of a job on a student visa. He later married Venera Grosso, a woman of European origin, and settled there permanently.

Sajid still had an Indian passport. Sajid’s family members have told 2 media houses that they had broken all relations with Sajid many years ago because he had married a Christian woman.

Sajid’s son Navid Akram (24 years old) is an Australian citizen. Sajid also has a daughter. According to Telangana Police, there is no criminal record against Sajid in India.

15 people have died in the terrorist attack, while more than 40 people are injured. Terrorist Sajid was also killed in police firing, while his son is injured.

The attacking father-son duo had fired on Jews during the Hanukkah festival on Australia’s Bondi Beach.

Sajid last came to India in 2022

According to Sajid’s relatives present in India, Sajid had very little contact with his family in the last 27 years. He visited India six times after going to Australia. There were family reasons behind this related to property and elderly parents.

According to the report of Indian Express, Sajid last visited India in 2022. It is reported that he did not come to India even at the time of his father’s death. The family says they had no knowledge of Sajid or Naveed’s radical views or activities.

Earlier, CNN had quoted Philippines officials as saying that Sajid Akram had gone to Philippines with his son Navid on November 1 last month.

During this period, Sajid used Indian passport while his son used Australian passport. They were preparing for the attack for a month.

The terrorists were firing from Sajid and Akram Bridge. Both the terrorists were shot by the police. Sajid had already been shot. In the footage, Akram was seen falling after being shot.

Terrorists had gone to Davao City, the Islamic stronghold of the Philippines

According to officials, both had gone to Davao City in the Philippines. Davao is on the island of Mindanao in the southern part of the Philippines. Mindanao has the largest Muslim population in the Philippines. It is considered the stronghold of Islamic extremist and rebel organization. These communities demand the creation of a separate country.

Apart from this, two flags of Islamic State were recovered from the vehicle of the terrorists, due to which it is being speculated that they were linked to ISIS.

The attacker had fired with a licensed gun

According to the police, 50-year-old attacker Sajid Akram had a licensed gun, which he used for hunting. NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said Sajid Akram was a member of a gun club and had a license under state law.

Sajid Akram legally owned 6 guns. Before leaving for the shoot, the father and son had told their family that they were going fishing. Akram lived in a rented house with his family.

After the attack, the police raided this house. According to the report, Sajid Akram used to run a fruit shop.
