Pahalgam terror attack: The NIA has got a big success in the case of Pahalgam terror attack. The agency has arrested two people, who were involved in sheltering the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from Pakistan. 26 tourists were killed and 16 were seriously injured in this attack. Those arrested are Parvez Ahmed Jothar (Batkot, Pahalgam) and Bashir Ahmed Jothar (Hill Park, Pahalgam).
The NIA investigation has revealed that both of them stayed in a temporary hut (Dhok) in their area before attacking three armed terrorists, fed food and provided the necessary goods. Before the terrorist attack, these terrorists were sheltered with the entire plan. The attack was targeted by tourists on the basis of religious identity.

Pervez and Bashir’s arrest
Parvez and Bashir have been arrested under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967. The case is registered under the NIA Case RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU, which was started after the attack on 22 April 2025. The NIA has confirmed that the three attackers were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who belonged to Pakistan. At present, further investigation is going on in this matter.
