20th meeting of the security advisors of the Doval Shanghai Cooperation (SCO)

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met China’s State Counselor and External Affairs Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday. The meeting was held on the occasion of the 20th meeting of the security advisors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

During this, Doval clearly stated that to maintain peace and stability in the area, it is necessary to combat every form of terrorism together.

India’s Foreign Ministry said that in the meeting, the two countries reviewed the recent progress of mutual relations and insisted on increasing the relationship between the citizens of the two countries.

Earlier in December 2024, Doval and Wang had a meeting in Beijing, where 6 agreements were decided on issues like Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Trans-Border River Cooperation and Nathula Trade.

Doval arrived on December 17 to attend the 23rd meeting of the special representative level between India and China.

Doval said- It is necessary to maintain peace on the border

It was decided in the meeting that Ajit Doval and Wang Yi would meet soon in the 24th talk of Special Representative (SR) level in India. NSA Doval also said that it is necessary to maintain peace along the border and to deal with terrorism strictly.

Rajnath Singh will also go to China

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also participate in a meeting of Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to be held in Kingdao city of China from 25 to 27 June. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif will also attend this meeting.

This will be any Indian minister’s visit to China after 7 years. Earlier in April 2018, the then Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj went.

Rajnath will have bilateral talks with Chinese Defense Minister

Rajnath Singh will also meet China’s Defense Minister Admiral Dong from June as a bilateral talks. During this period, issues like visa policy, Kailash Yatra, sharing water data and restoring air connectivity can also be discussed between the two countries.

The previous meeting of the two leaders took place at the ADMM-Plus Summit in Laos, which was the first direct conversation after the border dispute.

An agreement was reached on East Ladakh border dispute in December 2024

There was tension between India-China over border dispute in East Ladakh since 2020. December 2024 has reached an agreement after a two -year -long conversation. It was decided that the two armies would withdraw from the disputed points Depassang and Demchok.
