There is no good news for people using AI chatbot ChatGPT. Now soon, like social media platforms, ads and sponsored suggestions will start appearing on this chatbot too and testing for this has started. Till now nothing has been said officially regarding this, but this information was received from many leaks. Just a few days ago, there was a report that OpenAI wants to monetize its ChatGPT chatbot and it is exploring different methods for this.
Found out from beta app
According to reports, a code related to ads has been seen in the beta version of ChatGPT app. Search ads, search ad carousels, and market content appear in the code string of the app bundle. This shows that OpenAI is preparing to show sponsored and promoted content during chat in ChatGPT. In another report, it has been said that traditional banner ads will not be visible in ChatGPT, rather they will be visible as suggestions according to the context. If a user does shopping or product comparison, then sponsored links can be shown as his suggestion.
Now OpenAI wants to earn from ChatGPT
OpenAI, the company making ChatGPT, wants to earn money from it to meet its increasing expenses. The company expects that 8.5 percent of its 2.6 billion weekly users, or about 220 million users, will purchase the premium version of ChatGPT by 2030. Currently, only 5 percent of weekly active users (about 3.5 crore) use the company’s Plus and Pro plans, whose prices in India are Rs 1,999 and Rs 19,900 per month respectively. OpenAI believes that this is just the beginning and in future more people will use its paid services.
