The cabinet expanded in Bihar today. Seven new ministers took oath and were included in the cabinet. This expansion is considered important, because assembly elections are to be held in the state later this year.
There are seven MLAs to join Nitish Kumar’s cabinet- Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga), Sunil Kumar (Bihar Sharif), Jeevesh Kumar (Jale), Raju Kumar Singh (Sahebganj), Motilal Prasad (Riga), Vijay Kumar Mandal (Sikti) and Krishna Kumar Mantu (Amanour). Earlier, BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal announced to resign from the post of Revenue Minister.
Talking to the news agency ANI, Dilip Jaiswal said that I am going to resign from the post of Revenue Minister, ‘One person, one post’ is the principle of the party. Thanks to the central leadership for giving me the responsibility of the state unit of the party. He said that the cabinet expansion is the privilege of the Chief Minister. This expansion took place 2 days before the commencement of Bihar budget session, which will start from Friday.
Sources said that after the conversation held earlier on this matter, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Nitish Kumar held a meeting on possible cabinet expansion. It is being told that the cabinet expansion was possible only when the central leadership approved the list of possible ministers proposed by the Nitish government.
Many BJP ministers in Bihar are currently taking charge of more than one departments. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is handling the charge of three departments, while Minister of State Mangal Pandey and Nitish Mishra are taking charge of two departments. There is also a possibility that JDU may have two new ministers, while two ministers can be made from Rajput and Bhumihar caste.
At present, many BJP ministers in Bihar are handling the responsibility of more than one department. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is leading three departments, while Minister of State Mangal Pandey and Nitish Mishra are commanding two departments.
