Nirmala Sitharaman Slams Mk Stalin Tamil Nadu Rupees Symbol Change It Promotes SECessionist Sentiments | Stalin government changed symbol of ‘₹’, Nirmala Sitharaman, said

Hindi controversy: In the promotional material prepared by the Tamil Nadu government for the budget for 2025-26, the sign of the rupee was replaced with the Tamil letter. Rajti is now in full swing about this matter. The BJP is describing it as disrespect of the National symbol, while the DMK government is presenting this change as the honor of Tamil language.

‘Indication of dangerous mentality’

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday (March 13, 2025) that the Tamil Nadu government’s move to remove a sign of rupee is a sign of dangerous mindset, which weakens the unity of the country. He also said that by erasing the sign of the rupee, the DMK is not only rejecting a national symbol, but also disregarding the creative contribution of a Tamil youth.

‘Separatists will get promotion’

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman wrote on X, “This is a sign of a dangerous mindset that weakens the unity of the country and promotes separatist feelings on the pretext of regional pride ….” He said, “The symbol of the rupee is well recognized internationally and serves as India’s identity in global financial transactions. At a time when India is emphasizing the border payment using UPI, should we actually underestimate our own national currency symbol? ”

‘National unity weakens such decisions’

The Union Finance Minister said, “In fact, many countries including Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Seychelles and Sri Lanka officially use ‘Rupee’ or mixed names as their currency name ….” He said, “All elected representatives and officials take oath to maintain sovereignty and integrity of our nation under the Constitution. Removing a national symbol like a mark of money from the state budget documents is against that oath. It weakens commitment to national unity. ”

DMK government has a lot of Finance Minister

The Finance Minister said, “The irony is that former DMK MLA N.K. Dharmalingam’s son D Uday Kumar was designed. Now by erasing it, the DMK is not only rejecting a national symbol, but is also completely disregarding the creative contribution of a Tamil youth. The word has been going on in Tamil trade and literature for centuries and even today, Rupai remains the name of currency in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
