New robot shoes have arrived, will help in fast walking and running with the help of motor and battery.

Nike has recently announced Project Amplify. In this, powered footwear systems will be made for running and walking. The shoes coming in this project will be designed in such a way that it will help the athlete to run fast without much effort. For this, these shoes will also be given extra support to the feet and ankles. The company has introduced the first version under this project. Let us know how this will help the athlete to run faster.

How will robot shoe help athletes?

The first version of this project has a motor, a drive belt and a rechargeable cuff battery. All these components are installed on a running shoe made of carbon-fibre. According to Nike, this shoe has been designed in such a way that it will help the athlete to run greater distances and for longer periods of time. The company claims that these shoes will make running, jogging and walking easier. These will work exactly the same way as an electric bike works for a cyclist. This will provide support to the athlete like an extra set of calf muscles, which will improve his performance. If an athlete wants, he can wear the shoe even without this entire setup.

System ready after years of testing

Nike has designed these shoes in collaboration with its robotic partner Dephy. For this, data from the company’s Sports Research Lab has been used, where different athletes train. During the trials, it was found that with the help of these shoes, many runners were helped in running faster and the athletes who were able to cover a distance of one mile in 12 minutes, were successful in covering the same distance in 10 minutes with the help of these shoes. The company says that this system has been prepared after several years of indoor and outdoor testing.
