The National Commission for Women (NCW) has submitted its report on the recent communal violence in Murshidabad and Malda districts of West Bengal. According to the commission, people have lost faith in the state police. It states that the governance in Murshidabad collapsed completely. Women are in serious shock since the violence. The investigation team, led by the chairman of the Commission, Vijaya Rahatkar, visited the violence affected areas and learned their pain from the victims, women, women. The trauma that has been caused by these women cannot be described beyond words. The committee said that the administrative machinery and governance in Murshidabad district have completely ended. Despite prior intelligence and clear stress in the area, the state government failed to take preventive or responsible action, and did not interfere in the whole matter as a mute spectator. According to media reports, in the report submitted to the High Court on April 12, it was also believed that the government was aware of the growing communal tension in the area, but the state government failed to fulfill its constitutional duties for security for its citizens.

Police softened the rioters

The National Commission for Women said that the public has also put a question mark on the role of West Bengal Police. The police did not hear the victims to help them either ignored the appeals or responded in a slow and ineffective way. The police did not take action against the rioters and took a soft stand towards them, this increased the mistrust of the police.
