According to the NCRB report, Maharashtra’s graph has moved upwards over the years in terms of number of financial fraud cases. In 2023, such crimes were registered 19,803, while in 2022 18,729 cases and 15,550 cases were registered in 2021. Rajasthan was ranked first with 27,675 financial fraud cases, while Telangana was second with 26,321 cases. Maharashtra finished third after these two states.

Eight thousand cases were registered in Maharashtra due to cyber crime
In the case of cyber crime, 8,103 cases were registered in Maharashtra and finished fourth. Karnataka stood first in 2023 with 21,889 cases. The report stated that Bangalore finished first in 2023 with 17,631 cyber crime cases, while Hyderabad is second with 4,855 cases. In 2023, 4,131 cases of cyber crime were registered in Mumbai.
