Despite weakening, Cyclone ‘Montha’ is causing huge devastation in many states of the country. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha have suffered the most damage. Three people died in Andhra, 1.5 lakh acres of crops were destroyed and losses were estimated at Rs 5,265 crore, according to preliminary estimates. Due to heavy rains in Telangana, two thousand people have been shifted to relief camps in Warangal and Hanamkonda.

Cyclone Montha is continuously weakening, but its impact is being seen in many states. The cyclone has caused considerable damage in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha. In Andhra Pradesh, three people died, 42 cattle were destroyed and standing crops in about 1.5 lakh acres were destroyed. Heavy rain continues in many parts of Telangana. Bike rider died after a tree fell on him in Suryapet. There was also a report of a truck driver being swept away in Khammam district. The impact of Cyclone Montha was visible on the states of North India.
