Imd monsoon predictions 2025: India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that on Tuesday (May 14), the southwest monsoon has reached some areas of Andaman Sea in the Bay of Bengal. The IMD said that ‘the southwest monsoon has moved forward on 13 May in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, the southern part of the Andaman Sea, the Nicobar Islands and some parts of the Northern Andaman Sea. He said that during the next three to four days, the monsoon may continue to move forward in the sea.
IMD said, “There is a lot of possibility of moving towards the southern Andaman Sea, parts of the southern Andaman Sea, South-Eastern Bengal Bay and Nicobar Islands. IMD announces the arrival of monsoon in India when it reaches Kerala,” IMD said.
Increase in the effect of wester winds over Andaman Sea
IMD said that the influence of western winds over the South, Nicobar Islands of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea has increased. The wind speed of 1.5 km above sea level has exceeded 20 sea miles. Also, some areas have increased by 4.5 kilometers.
When will Delhi-NCR get relief from heat?
IMD said, “‘Outgoing Longwave Radiation’ (OLR) has also decreased in the region which indicates cloudy.” People in the national capital Delhi and NCR will have to face heat outbreaks. According to the 7-day forecast by the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase higher from May 13. During this period, the maximum temperature will be between 39 to 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can remain from 27 to 28 degrees Celsius. At the same time, on May 16, there is a possibility of thunderstorms.
