BJP has tried to corner SP by fielding Chandrabhanu Paswan of Pasi community. Along with creating caste equation, BJP has tried to answer the slogan of SP MP Awadhesh Prasad through Chandrabhan, which Awadhesh Prasad, as SP candidate, had given during the Lok Sabha elections on Ayodhya seat. During the campaign he had given the slogan ‘Ayodhya na Kashi, this time it will go to Pasi’. It is believed that in response to this slogan of Awadhesh, this time BJP has tried to corner SP by betting on Pasi to cut Pasi.

In fact, after losing the Ayodhya seat in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP was looking for a face from the Pasi community who could give a strong fight to capture the seat of SP elected MP Avedhash Prasad. For this, Chandrabhanu’s name had emerged strongly in the survey conducted by the party. Therefore, BJP has decided to give ticket to Chandrabhanu of Pasi community in front of the opposition’s Pasi candidate. It is believed that looking at the Lok Sabha election results, BJP had also understood that this time it would be beneficial to contest the by-elections using SP’s slogan as a weapon instead of religious agenda like Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura. Therefore, in this regard, BJP has also decided to field a candidate from the Pasi community for the election of Pasi.

Dalit voters have been playing a decisive role in Milkipur seat. In that too the Pasi community has the highest number. This is the reason why in the last several elections, SP has been successful by betting on the old and senior Awadhesh Prasad from the Pasi community. If we look at the statistics of electoral history, in all the elections since 1991 till now, BJP has won this seat only twice. That means politically, this seat is considered a SP stronghold. If sources are to be believed, this time the BJP changed its strategy and was looking for a candidate whose image was undisputed and who could leave a good impact among the youth of the Dalit community compared to the elderly SP leader Awadhesh Prasad.
