Mcd By Election: BJP won the most seats, still far from majority; Dependent on this party to take charge of the corporation – Mcd By-election Result Bjp Wins Maximum Seats Yet Falls Short Of Majority

Even after the by-election results of 12 wards of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) were revealed, BJP’s position in the House could not change. BJP registered a strong presence in the elections by winning maximum seven seats, but despite this the party has failed to reach the magical majority figure of 126. After the by-election, the number of BJP councilors in the House has increased to 123, i.e. three less than the majority. In such a situation, to retain the command of MCD, BJP will still have to depend on 15 councilors of Indraprastha Vikas Party (IVP).
