On the refusal of sowing of garlic in Bahraich, farmer Vijay Kumar Maurya, a resident of Nindurpurwa Teparaha village, was killed by cutting two teenagers with sharp weapons on Wednesday morning. After this, he was locked in the room along with the family and set himself on fire.
When the fire brigade broke the door after extinguishing the fire, the dead bodies of Vijay Kumar (45), wife Dheeraj Kumari (30), daughter Priyanshi (8) and Riyashi (6) were found. Ramgaon police has started interrogation of Vijay’s brother Manoj and Ajay in custody.

Both said that Vijay’s mental state was not right since the death of the only son in a road accident a year ago. He used to beat his wife and girls on the day.

Vijay was settled from Bihar 22 years ago
According to the police, Vijay was originally from Navagachia in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. After coming here 22 years ago, he started farming by purchasing about five acres of land. The land of other people of the village was also taken on share. Both his brothers also build separate houses here.

On Wednesday morning, Vijay called Suraj Yadav (14), Sunny Verma (13) and Kishan Yadav (15), residents of village to sow garlic to the farm. Suraj and Sunny refused to work as Mahanavami. Amidst Nokzhonk, Vijay sent Kishan out of the house to cut wood.

Angry with Suraj and Sunny, Vijay killed both of them in the courtyard of the house. After this, the cattle and themselves locked themselves in the room with the whole family and set fire with the help of LPG cylinder.
