India’s young badminton player Tharan Mannapalli entered the Mains Singles semi -finals in the Macau Open Super 300 tournament on Friday. He won 21–12, 13–21, 21-18 in a tough match against Chinese’s Jha. The match lasted for 75 minutes.
BWF Super 300 reached the semi -finals for the first time This is the first time of Tharan that he has reached the semi -finals of a BWF Super 300 tournament. Earlier, in February, he reached the quarterfinals of the German Open.
Return after trailing in the first game At the beginning of the match, Tharan was behind 4-7 in the first game, but he made a brilliant comeback and took the score to 12-9. Subsequently, he scored six consecutive points and took a 15–11 lead and won the first game 21-12. In the second game, I did better. He took a 6–2 lead and then increased the score to 15–6. Tharan could not return to the game and Hu won it 21–13.
In the deciding third game, Tharan dominated from the beginning and took a 5–0 lead. He maintained his lead from 19–15. Eventually, he won the game and match 21–18 by putting an accurate push in Hu’s backhand corner.
