CM Siddaramaiah reached Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s residence on Tuesday for breakfast, where discussions were held between the two leaders over breakfast. Earlier, DK Shivakumar and his brother DK Suresh welcomed the CM. DK Shivakumar’s office has released the picture of both the leaders, in which both the leaders are seen discussing. After the meeting, DK Shivakumar said in a social media post, ‘Today I invited the Honorable Chief Minister for breakfast at my home, because we are dedicated to good governance and continuous development of the state under the vision of Congress.’
Earlier on Saturday also both the leaders had met for breakfast and that meeting took place at the CM’s residence. In this way, the two leaders met at the breakfast table for the second time in the last four days. On Monday, CM Siddaramaiah had said that he would go to DK Shivakumar’s residence for breakfast on Tuesday. However, the CM had said that he has not yet received the formal invitation. After this, in a post shared on social media in the evening, DK Shivakumar invited the CM for breakfast.
Home Minister said- everything is going on peacefully
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on the meeting of the two leaders, ‘It is a good thing that our two leaders are meeting again over breakfast. We just want that whatever has been happening for the last month should be resolved peacefully. Both are meeting for the second time on the advice of the party high command. All issues will be resolved. Siddaramaiah had talked to Shivkumar and now Shivkumar has called Siddaramaiah. Everything is happening peacefully. Different people may have different ambitions. I don’t think this is wrong.

Speculations of change of leadership in Karnataka
On Monday, Shivkumar wrote in a social media post, ‘I and the Chief Minister are continuously working together, like a team. I have invited the Honorable Chief Minister for breakfast tomorrow. Over breakfast we will discuss joint efforts to fulfill the promises made in Karnataka. This entire incident is happening at a time when there are speculations about change of leadership in Karnataka and discussions regarding this have been going on for the last several days. Now claims are being made to crown DK Shivakumar as CM under the alleged two-and-a-half year agreement. However, publicly Shivkumar and CM Siddaramaiah have been rejecting these discussions.
On Saturday, DK Shivakumar and CM Siddaramaiah met for breakfast at the CM residence. After this meeting, both the leaders gave a message of unity and rejected any confusion regarding the change of leadership. Both the leaders said that whatever the party high command decides, they will follow it. According to media reports, the party high command has indicated to Siddaramaiah to remain on the post of CM for the time being and especially till the upcoming assembly session.

Shivkumar said – there is no confusion
DK Shivakumar said in a statement on Monday, ‘This is a matter between me and the Chief Minister and we both are working together like brothers. We met on November 29 due to media pressure, but there was no need for that. You are claiming factionalism, but there is no factionalism. You are the one forming the group. There are 140 MLAs with me. When we are born and when we die we will be alone, but when it comes to party we take everyone along. So no one needs to worry.
