It’s Sunday… a holiday, but there is no silence in the Meerut court today but a heavy thud of boots. From 11 am to 5 pm, the entire campus appeared transformed into a cantonment. Reason: Appearance of Paras Som, accused of kidnapping and murder.

‘I didn’t kill… save me’
CO Sardhana Ashutosh Kumar and CO Civil Line Abhishek Tiwari are in command on the spot. Forces from several police stations have surrounded the court from all sides. Seeing so many police on Sunday, even a few people passing by are surprised as to what is the matter. Just then the police Bolero stops. Accused Paras Som comes out from inside. Looking at his appearance it is difficult to guess that he is the same accused. He had a muffler wrapped around his face and head and a sheet over his body to protect himself from the cold. There was silence in the court premises but as soon as Paras moved forward in the circle of policemen, he spoke out. In the presence of media cameras and police, he only said – I did not commit murder… save me.

Paras was silent earlier
Although before this the media asked him many questions on which he remained silent but in the end he pleaded for defense by declaring himself innocent. The defense lawyers present there also appeared ready to represent him in the court. Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Veeresh Raj Sharma has confirmed that Paras Som has been admitted to the jail and has been kept in Mulaeja Barrack for security reasons.

journey from saturday night to jail
Saturday night: Paras was kept in the Crime Branch office located at Police Lines.
Sunday morning: He was medically examined after which he was brought directly to the court.
5:15 pm: After completion of the hearing, he was taken to Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail.

Paras caught by police after searching 500 CCTVs, 4 states
Meerut police worked hard to solve the mystery of Sunita’s murder and Ruby’s kidnapping in Kapsad village of Sardhana police station area. In search of the main accused Paras Som, the police searched more than 500 CCTV cameras and with the help of surveillance, arrested him and safely traced the kidnapped Ruby from Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
