According to JMM sources, the body of Shibu Soren will be taken to his ancestral village Nemra in Ramgarh district on Tuesday, where he will be cremated with full state honors. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Patron and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren died in a hospital in Delhi yesterday after a long illness. Shibu Soren was undergoing treatment in the hospital under the supervision of Dr. AK Bhalla, Senior Advisor of Nephrology since June 19. Dr. Bhalla said that Shibu Soren was declared dead at 8.56 am. “Despite the best efforts of our medical team, Shibu Soren died on August 4, 2025,” the hospital said in a statement. Shibu Soren was the leader of JMM for the last 38 years.
