Amidst the snowfall in the valley, the number of tourists is increasing in view of the Christmas festival and New Year. In view of this, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a safe environment for the tourists. Continuous search operations are being conducted in other sensitive areas including Srinagar city.
To further strengthen the security and deal with any possible terrorist threat, anti-sabotage operations along with area domination are going on at various places. In this connection, the security forces also conducted anti-sabotage operations around important locations in Srinagar city on Tuesday.
A Srinagar Police official said that in collaboration with CRPF, Area Security and Anti-Sabotage (AST) operations were conducted around major important locations and sensitive places in the North Zone of Srinagar.
According to police sources, teams were deployed at main intersections and markets where they checked vehicles, verified documents and interrogated drivers. Apart from this, security forces also searched inside shops and suspicious buildings. Along with the soldiers, there were also special sniffer dog squads.
