IPL 2026: Before IPL 2026, a tremendous news has created a stir among cricket fans. It is being told that talks of a big trade are going on between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Which includes three veteran players, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran and Sanju Samson. If this deal is finalized, Jadeja and Karan can be seen in the jersey of Rajasthan Royals, while Sanju Samson can be a part of CSK.
Jadeja’s captaincy condition
According to sources, Ravindra Jadeja has clearly told Rajasthan Royals that he will join the team only when he is given the captaincy. 37 year old Jadeja is in the last phase of his career and he is now dreaming of taking command of a team and winning the trophy for the team.
Rajasthan management is currently considering this condition. The team earlier wanted to prepare Yashasvi Jaiswal or Riyan Parag as the future captain, but considering the experience of Jadeja, now the stance of the franchise may change.
Samson’s entry in CSK?
If this trade deal is completed, then Sanju Samson’s arrival in Chennai Super Kings is considered almost certain. Sanju’s batting and leadership abilities can prove to be a big advantage for CSK. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad is currently the captain of CSK and the franchise has announced him as the future captain for CSK. With the arrival of Sanju, the top order of the team will become stronger, but it will be interesting to see whether he takes over the captaincy in future or not.
Old relationship between Jadeja and CSK
Ravindra Jadeja and Chennai Super Kings have had a long-standing relationship. After joining the team in 2012, he has given many memorable performances and played an important role in winning the title twice. However, when Dhoni left the captaincy in 2022 and handed over the command to Jadeja, the team’s performance declined. Jadeja left the captaincy after winning only two out of eight matches.
Big decision will be taken before the auction
This trade is expected to be decided before the IPL 2026 auction. If Jadeja goes to Rajasthan and Samson becomes a part of Chennai, then it could prove to be the biggest trade of the tournament. Fans of both the teams are now waiting for BCCI’s approval on this “captain exchange”.
