Apple devices: The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) of the Government of India has issued a fresh and serious warning for Apple users. This advisory states that many devices of Apple have found critical safety flaws which have been kept in the ‘High Severity’ category. Through these bugs, cyber attackers can steal your sensitive information, you can crashes system, bypass security features or control the device completely.
Which devices and verses are in danger?
According to the CERT-in report (CIVN-2025-0163), these dangerous bugs can affect the following Apple software verses:
iphones: IOS 18.6 before version
iPads: iPados 17.7.9 and before 18.6
Macbooks: Macos sequoia (before 15.6), sonoma (before 14.7.7), ventura (before 13.7.7)
Apple Watch: Watchos before 11.6
Apple tv: Before TVOS 18.6
Vision Pro: Before Visionos 2.6
The root of these bugs includes the mistakes of memory handling, logic aerrs and the flaws of the privilege management.
What is risk?
If these bugs are taken advantage of, the user may face the following risks:
- Access or hacking of private and sensitive data
- Rimotallic malware or code of code
- Bypassing security features
- System Crash or Denial of Service (DOS) attack
- Control or data loss and identity damage on the entire device
- All this together can become a serious threat to your digital life and personal information.
How to stay safe?
Apple has released OTA (over-the-aAR) updates to fix these security flaws. Therefore, all iPhone, iPad, MAC, and other apple devices users should immediately update their devices.
How to update, Settings> General> Software Update, go here and install the available updates and restart the device.
