Intel will cut 12 thousand jobs

The US chip manufacturer Intel will reduce its number of employees worldwide by mid -2017 to deal with the challenges of the declining personal computer market. The company of Santa Clara of California said on Tuesday that a nearly 11 per cent reduction in the number of Intel employees would accelerate the process of changing themselves as clouds and billions of smart connected devices from a PC company.

According to the news agency Xinhua, the Data Center and the Internet of Things (IOT) have now become major means of income for Intel instead of PC.

According to the company’s statement, the new business has contributed 40 per cent to the company’s income last year.

Intel has long been a major company in the world of PC chip, but due to the decrease in the global demand of the PC, the company is now decreasing its dependence on PC and moving towards cloud, mobile and other computing devices.

The company hopes that it will save $ 750 million this year and will save $ 1.4 billion annually after the reduction of employees this year.

The company has declared its first quarter result on Tuesday, with the company’s income from $ 12.78 billion to $ 13.7 billion, which is more than an estimate.
