In Madhya Pradesh, the matter is gaining momentum regarding the alleged controversial statement of an IAS officer. Taking cognizance of the complaint filed in this case, a local court of Indore on Thursday directed the TI of Tukoganj police station to submit the status report by January 20. The next hearing of the case will also be held on January 20. The complaint has been filed by a local lawyer, accusing him of making derogatory comments against the Brahmin community.

Complainant advocate Shailendra Dwivedi told the court that IAS officer Santosh Verma, who recently became the president of Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste-Tribe Officers and Employees Association (AJAKS), had made indecent, indecent and social harmony-disturbing remarks about the daughters of the Brahmin community during a program held in Bhopal last month.

Court asked for progress report

The complainant also said that this statement created a situation of tension and animosity between the two communities. According to the lawyer, he had given a written complaint at Tukoganj police station, but due to the police not registering the FIR, he had to approach the court.

Considering the matter as serious, the court has sought a progress report of the entire incident from the police. At the same time, the State General Administration Department had also issued a show-cause notice to the IAS officer on November 26, in which it was asked why departmental action should not be taken on his controversial statement.

Misrepresented statement – ​​IAS Santosh Verma

As the controversy escalated, Santosh Verma told the media that a small part of his long speech was distorted and broadcast in the wrong context. He also clarified that it was not his intention to hurt the sentiments of any community. Verma said if any of my statements were misrepresented and any society was hurt, then I am sorry.

It is noteworthy that the video of this statement is also going viral, in which he is saying that a person in a family should get reservation unless a Brahmin donates his daughter to his son or has a relationship with her, if reservation is to be given on economic basis. He further said that reservation should continue till then.
