India Rejects British Parliamentary Report Naming India Among Countries Engaging In Transnational Repression – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

The Government of India on Friday completely dismissed the allegations leveled in a UK parliamentary report, including India in the list of countries that are allegedly involved in international repression in the UK. Foreign Ministry (MEA) spokesman Randhir Jaiswal, describing the report as baseless, said that the allegations made in it are based on untouchable and suspected sources, who are related to individuals and organizations who have been involved in anti-India activities.

What is the whole matter?

The Joint Human Rights Committee of the British Parliament released a report on 30 July, titled ‘International Daman in Britain’. Apart from India, this report includes the names of countries like China, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Irritria, Bahrain, Rwanda and Egypt, which have been accused of intimidating or harassing their opponents by going out of borders in the UK.

India’s strict response

The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that this report is based on incredible sources. These sources include organizations and individuals that are banned in India, such as Sikh for Justice (SFJ) – a Khalistan’s pro -Khalistan organization, which India has banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The background of these sources has been anti-India and their purpose is to damage the image of India.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “The credibility of these claims is dependent on suspicious sources, whose background is full of bias against India. This type of report itself raises questions on its credibility.

The report claimed that some Indian -origin activists, especially Sikhs, are being harassed or monitored by the Government of India. It has some examples of Sikh for Justice and other Sikh organizations in Britain.

India believes that some organizations and individuals living in Britain are running separatist agenda in the name of Khalistan.
