Prior to the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand PM Luxon on Monday, the two countries announced to resume on the proposed free trade agreement after nearly 10 years. Luxon, who visited India, said at the industry body FICCI on Tuesday, “Let’s take this relationship forward.” It is expected that I will be signing this agreement with Prime Minister Modi within 60 days.

However, business experts believe that during dialogue, there may be some difficulty on the issue of giving fees concessions on agricultural products such as apples, kiwis, dairy and wine. At the same time, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that in the next 10 years, the two countries together can achieve 10 times the business. He said that if the two countries work in the spirit of complementary economies, then hardly one will have to compete with each other at any point.

Luxon, who visited India to strengthen the relationship, met Union Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda on Tuesday. Nadda presented him a shawl, bouquet and Modi@20 books. During this time, Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, BJP’s foreign affairs, was also present. Luxon also met Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.
