India has made a great start in the first phase of the Archery World Cup held in the US. The Indian compound mixed team defeated Chinese Taipei players in this prestigious World Cup. Jyoti Surekha Vannam and Rishabh Yadav showed the patience of amazing and beat Chinese Taipei players-Huang Eye-Jau and Chen Chiha-Lun 153–151 during a thorn collision. Jyoti-Rishabh made a strong comeback after trailing in the first and second series. Both won the match in the fourth and decisive series, followed by a gold medal in India’s bag. Earlier on Friday, India defeated European country Slovenia and made it to the finals.

Thorns collision; Tremendous return after lagging behind in the beginning
India’s mixed pair lost 37–38 and 38–39 in the first and second series amidst a thorn collision for gold in the final, but Jyoti and Rishabh kept up on. Taking a strong comeback in the third set, both of them targeted two 10 and one inner 10. Due to this, the Indian pair won by a close margin of 39-38.
Indian players dominate Chinese Taipei archers in decisive match
The fourth and decisive phase went to the fourth and decisive phase with the victory of India in the third set. Chinese Taipei rival Huang Eye-Jau and Chen Chiha-Lun, Indian archers hit many excellent targets. The Indian pair won 39–36 in the decisive set. The total score was 153–151.

Indian pair defeated Slovenia players in the semi -finals before winning gold
This achievement is also special because this event has been included in the Los Angeles Olympics of 2028. Jyoti and Rishabh got fifth preference on the basis of qualification score. Both defeated Spain 156–149 in the first round. In the quarter-finals, the Indian pair defeated Denmark 156–154 in a thorn. In the semi-finals, the Indian pair defeated Slovenia players 159–155 to make it to the finals.

Team of experienced archers
Dheeraj Bomadevara also contributed significantly to this golden success of India. He was delayed in reaching America due to some visa related problems. Dheeraj, who arrived a few hours before the match, showed amazing patience and contributed to bringing the Indian men’s recurve team to the finals. The fifth seeded Indian team also includes veteran archers Tarundeep Rai and Atanu Das. These players defeated Spain 6-2 to give the country a second medal in the first World Cup of the season.
