IND vs SA 4th T20I: Will the spectators’ money be lost after the cancellation of the India-South Africa match? Know the rules of BCCI

IND vs SA 4th T20I: The fourth T20 International match between India and South Africa to be played in Lucknow was canceled without a single ball being bowled. Due to dense fog and mist, the conditions at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium were so bad that even the toss could not take place. There was a wait for about three hours, but when the weather did not improve, the umpires decided to cancel the match. After this, thousands of spectators who reached the stadium returned disappointed.

After the cancellation of the match, the biggest question that arose was what would happen to the money of the fans who reached the stadium after purchasing tickets. Will they get their money back or will the entire amount be wasted? The answer to this question is clearly present in the rules laid down by BCCI.

Rules for ticket refund in case of match cancellation

According to BCCI, if an international or domestic match is canceled without even a single ball being bowled, then the spectators get the ticket price refunded. However, service or convenience fees incurred during ticket booking are deducted. After this, the entire remaining amount is returned to the fans.

The second rule is different from this. If the match has started and one or more balls have been bowled, but later the match is canceled due to weather or any other reason, then in that case the ticket money is not refunded.

What rule applied to the canceled T20I in Lucknow?

Even the toss could not take place in the fourth T20I between India and South Africa in Lucknow. That means not a single ball was bowled. In such a situation, the first rule of BCCI applies. This clearly means that the audience’s money has not been wasted and they will get the ticket amount back. Even if you don’t get a chance to watch the match, there will be no financial loss.

Information regarding the entire process related to ticket refund will soon be shared by Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and the official ticketing partner. Usually this amount is refunded through the same account or medium from which the tickets were purchased.
