In a special interview to PTI video, Saikia said, “The BCCI’s stand on the match against Pakistan is completely clear. We support the Central Government’s decision. The Government of India has made a policy and we have to accept that policy. There is no problem for us to follow the government’s policy.”

During the interview, when he was asked a question on the possibility of giving Shubman Gill to be given the captaincy in all three formats, he saved himself from making any comment in this matter. Saikia said that this is not the right time yet. Do not make a hurry about the future of any player.

Hope expressed on Women’s World Cup

The Women’s ODI World Cup will start in India and Sri Lanka from 30 September. Even before this big tournament, Saikia expressed confidence in the host Indian women’s team. He said that Team India has been playing brilliantly for the last two years. Recently, the women’s team’s performance in the series against England was also strong.

Saikia said that the players are continuously practicing in Visakhapatnam and have been focused on preparation for the last 6-7 months.

Ticket price reduced to Rs 100

The ticket price for the tournament has been kept only at Rs 100 so that more and more viewers reach the stadium and support women’s cricket. Saikia said that its aim is to make women cricket more popular and players can play in full stadium.
