IND vs NZ: New Zealand Cricket has announced the names of players for the ODI and T20 series to be held in India next month. New Zealand ‘A’ left-arm orthodox bowler Jayden Lennox has been included in the Black Caps team for the first time. The New Zealand team has a mix of young players like Lennox and Christian Clarke along with experienced white-ball specialists like Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell. The board is busy searching for the right team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Lennox has been included in the ODI team. Along with him, Christian Clarke, Adi Ashok, Josh Clarkson, Nick Kelly and Michael Ray are also in the team. Kyle Jamieson and Mitchell Santner will be seen playing for New Zealand again. Jamieson has returned to the T20 team with ODI. At the same time, Santner has been included only in the T20 team.
Command handed over to Bracewell
In Santner’s absence, Michael Bracewell will take command of the team during the ODI series, along with him will be experienced players like Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Will Young and Henry Nicholls.
Williamson is out
Test captain Tom Latham and front-line seam bowler Matt Henry have been left out of the ODI series against India. At the same time, Kane Williamson is not available for the ODI team due to his commitment in the SA20 league. Mitch Hay will do wicketkeeping in the ODI series, while Devon Conway will take over the responsibility in the T20 series. Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra will not be part of the ODI series. Along with Santner, Chapman and Henry are set to return to the T20 team after recovering from injury.
India and New Zealand teams will play a three-match ODI series between January 11-18. After this, a T20 series of five matches will be organized between 21-31 January.
