IND vs Eng Test Ben Stokes on Virat Rohit Ashwin Absence

IND vs Eng Test Series: The five -match Test series between India and England is going to start on the Leeds ground from today i.e. 20 June. Before the first Test of Sarge, England captain Ben Stokes has given a big statement on all the discussions about the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin. Before the start of the first matches of the series against the young Indian team under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, Ben Stokes clearly said that playing against India is not easy to play against India.

Ben Stokes said that the England team is not lightly lane in the Indian youth team in any way. Even though big names like Kohli, Rohit and Ashwin are no longer part of this format, England knows that India’s young team is not less than anyone.

It is not easy to play against India

A press conference was organized before the first Test. In this press conference, Ben Stokes spoke to the media, saying, “There is a lot of talk about this series that England can easily win due to Virat, Rohit and Ashwin’s absence, but this does not mean that playing against the Indian team will be easy now. There are many more talented players in Indian cricket.”

Stokes said that when such a big experienced players retire one after the other, any team can look weak, but India is different because there is no shortage of talent there. He further said, “Even though Virat, Rohit and Ashwin have performed brilliantly in Test cricket for the country, but the place that will come in today’s place will be equally challenging for us to play against them. There is no shortage of talent in India. We have spent a lot of time with Indian players in the IPL, so we know how much talent is there in the players there.”

Jaspreet Bumrah told a big danger

Stokes also said during the press conference that India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah could prove to be a major threat to the England batsmen. However, he also said that England team will not focus only on Bumrah. He added, “When Bumrah bowling, he can take wickets on every pitch and prove to be effective for the team. But cricket is not just a player but a game of 11 players. We are not paying attention to only one player. It is not our strategy to target one player. Playing against all bowlers of the Indian team is going to be as challenging.”
