Security Scare for Indian Cricket Team: From today, the second Test will be played between India and England at Edgbaston Cricket Stadium in Birmingham. Shubman Gill & Team is 0–1 in the series. A day earlier on Tuesday, when the players were practicing, they were sent to the hotel. All were instructed that no one would come out of the hotel, security was also increased.
On Tuesday, a suspicious package was stirred up at the Centenary Square in Birmingham. After this, security was increased outside Team India’s hotel. Tuesday was an optional practice session of Indian players, which included 8 players including captain Shubman Gill. Biringham City Center Police directed the Indian contingent to stay in the hotel itself.
Since reaching England, the Indian players are planning to roam in the area near the hotel. In Leeds too, the players were seen walking around the area near the hotel, the players themselves shared their photos on social media.
Birmingham City Center Police wrote in an X post, “We have increased security around the Centenary Square of Birmingham City Center. We are investigating a suspicious package. We were alerted around 3 pm, and many buildings have been evacuated as a precaution, it is being investigated. Avoid going to that area.”
