IND vs AUS ODI Series: The three-match ODI series between India and Australia is going to start from October 19 in Perth, but even before the start of the series, the Australian team has suffered two major setbacks. The team’s main spinner Adam Zampa and wicketkeeper batsman Josh Inglis have been ruled out of the first ODI. The exclusion of these two players has definitely brought relief to Team India, especially for Virat Kohli, because Zampa has troubled him many times.

Why will Adam Zampa not play the first ODI?

Australia’s star leg spinner Adam Zampa has returned to his country to be with his wife as he is soon going to become a father. Because of this, Zampa will not be able to play in the first ODI. The team management hopes that he will join back for the remaining two matches of the series.

In Zampa’s absence, Matthew Kuhneman has been included in the team. This will be a chance for him to return to ODI after three years. Kuhneman last played an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2022.

Josh Inglis is also out

Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis is still struggling with a calf injury. The injury sustained during the New Zealand tour could not heal completely, due to which he will remain out of the first match. In his place, Josh Philip has been included in the team, who has got a chance to keep wickets in ODI for the first time. However, Cricket Australia is hopeful that Inglis will return fit by the third ODI to be held in Sydney on October 25.

Australia’s troubles increased

Australian selectors are currently facing a big problem regarding team combination. On one hand, they want to manage the workload of the players keeping in mind the upcoming Ashes series, while on the other hand they also have to maintain competition against a strong team like India.

Alex Carey will not play in the first ODI as he is participating in the Sheffield Shield. Cameron Green will also miss the last ODI so that he can practice with the red ball. The team is already taking the field without Glenn Maxwell, who has a wrist fracture.

India got relief

Adam Zampa has always proved to be a challenge for Indian batsmen, especially Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. With the absence of Zampa, it may be easier for India to score runs in the first ODI. Also, with English being out, Australia’s batting depth has also reduced.
