If you also want to keep your account safe, then adopt this method now! Government tells some important password tips
July 15, 2025 / Technology / By Sam

Account safety: In view of the rapidly growing cyber crimes in the country, the government has issued a necessary warning for common users. The National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCCRP) has shared some important suggestions regarding the safety related to the password, including things from making passwords to its use. Thousands of people are falling prey to online fraud every day, where fraudsters are cleaning hands on the hard earned money of the people. According to the report, more than 6,000 people are falling prey to some cyber fraud every day in India.

Many times people inadvertently get caught in this trap by their mistake. Criminals implicate users in ways like social engineering, and weak password becomes their biggest weakness.

Why is a password necessary?

Password is the first wall of your digital life safety. It protects your bank, social media and other online accounts like a lock. Just as if a key is lost, the household items may be in danger, similarly the weak password gives the hacker a chance to reach your personal information.

5 important things related to password that keep in mind

Make strong passwords

NCCRP says that passwords should be such that includes small and large letters, numerals and special characters. Passwords should be at least 8 letters. In today’s AI era, long and complex password makes your data more secure.

Keep separate passwords for each account

Using the same password in many accounts is to feast the danger, especially for banking and social media accounts. If an account is hacked, then everyone else can also be in danger.

Do not share your password and otp with anyone

Never share your password, OTP, PIN and Debit/Credit Card CVV with anyone. Frauds often withdraw your amount through this information.

Change regular password

From time to time, keep changing all your banking and social media passwords. This makes it difficult for hackers to estimate the password.

Destroy with public Wi-Fi

The cyber crime portal has warned not to make banking or financial transactions using public Wi-Fi network. Criminals can be present on such open networks and steal your information. Always use private internet connection only.
