Questions have been continuously raised on the selection committee of the Indian cricket team. There were question marks on the Indian squad for the first T20 Asia Cup, due to which Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer were kept out. Recently, Team India was announced for the Australian tour, for which Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was again under criticism. Ishant Sharma has expressed his opinion on the selection process of Team India.
On the podcast of famous YouTuber Raj Shamani, Ishant Sharma said that it always remains a matter of debate as to why Shreyas Iyer or any other player was not selected. But according to Ishant, the biggest question is that in whose place would he be brought into the team.
Discussing the solution to this problem, Ishant Sharma said, “In such a situation, you should seek ICC’s permission to declare a 20-member squad instead of 15, because India is full of talent. Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma said that it is important to maintain balance in the team. He said, “If they select one player, then the selectors become good for the fans. Ishant gave an example to explain who can replace Rishabh Pant in T20? He explained that KL Rahul had a good IPL season, but he was not selected. Ishant told that if Rahul had been selected in T20, perhaps Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson or someone else would have had to sit out. Ishant said, “This is the truth, those who are not there are the ones who are talked about the most.”
