Equal salary for men and women
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) pays the same per match fee to both men’s and women’s players. BCCI gives equal salary to male and female cricketers of Rs 15 lakh for a Test match, Rs 6 lakh for an ODI match and Rs 3 lakh for a T20 International.
6.50 crore difference between men’s and women’s top grade
BCCI gives Rs 50 lakh annually to the players included in ‘Grade A’ of women cricketers, whereas the players included in ‘Grade A+’ of male cricketers get an annual salary of Rs 7 crore.
More than 16 times difference in second grade of men and women
The annual salary of ‘Grade B’ women cricketers is Rs 30 lakh. At the same time, in the second grade of male cricketers i.e. ‘Grade A’, every player is given Rs 5 crore annually. That means the distance here is more than 16 times.
The difference in third grade between men and women is 30 times
The players included in ‘Grade C’ of women cricketers have an annual salary of only Rs 10 lakh. Whereas men get Rs 3 crore in third grade i.e. ‘Grade B’. That means here there is a 30 times difference in the salaries of both. There is also fourth grade among male cricketers. Cricketers included in ‘Grade C’ get an annual salary of Rs 1 crore, whereas in women’s cricket the fourth grade has not been kept yet.
