Himachal Pradesh News: Himachal Pradesh government has paid tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration will now be known after former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Its name will now be Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MS-HIPA).
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh had announced this during the program on January 1, 2025. A notification in this regard has been issued by the state government on Tuesday (January 21). It was approved in the last state cabinet meeting.
Know the history of Himachal Institute of Public Administration
Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) was established on January 1, 1974. This institute is located in Fair Lawns, about 12 kilometers from Shimla on Mashobra Road. This institute is located in a historical building. This building with peaceful and picturesque surroundings has spacious and magnificent lawns. It was originally constructed by R. of the Foreign Office of British India. Dixon got it done. Later it was bought by Nawab Muzaffar Ali Khan Quizzalbash of Malerkotla.
Change in name after 50 years
After he left for Pakistan in 1947, this property came to the Punjab Government, which converted it into a Circuit House. At the time of reorganization of states in November, 1966, this property was transferred to the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Later it was selected for the establishment of the institute. With time this institute has developed into a full-fledged training institute. It has all the facilities which should be there in this type of institution. Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration has now become Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration.
CM Sukhu remembered Dr. Singh
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that this is a tribute from the state government to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said that the contribution of the former Prime Minister to the development of the country was important. He also had a special relationship with Himachal Pradesh. He always continued to contribute to various development works of Himachal Pradesh.
In such a situation, this historical building will now be known as Himachal Pradesh Government in his memory. His foresight, ingenuity and policy efficiency gave a new direction to India’s economy and increased India’s prestige at the global level. His contributions to Indian politics will be remembered for ages. His works will always remain a source of inspiration.
