During this time, users will not be able to do any transaction from UPI. Apart from this, Merchant UPI transactions will also have an impact. HDFC bank services will be interrupted

HDFC Bank has informed on its website that its UPI services will be interrupted for 3 hours on February 8. From 12 noon to 3 pm on February 8, HDFC Bank’s current and savings account, RuPay Credit Card, HDFC mobile banking app and UPI will not be able to get UPI transactions on third party apps supported from HDFC Bank. Apart from this, no merchant UPI transaction will be done through HDFC Bank.

HDFC Bank has also explained the reason behind this inconvenience to the users. It has been told by the bank that system is being done to improve banking experience. Due to this, users may have to face trouble for a few hours. To avoid inconvenience, customers can first handle their essential work or withdraw from ATM.

UPI’s more than two -thirds stake in digital transactions

The UPI’s stake in the total digital payment to be held in the country is more than the third. According to an RBI report, UPI stake in digital payment in 2019 was 34 percent, which has now increased from double to 83 percent. That is, 83 percent of the digital payment in the country is from UPI. In the remaining 17 percent, all the transactions occur through NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, Credit and Debit Card.
