After the incident of rat being found in the mid-day meal supply (Kadhi) in the district on Thursday, immediate action was taken and the distribution of food in about 460 schools was stopped. Investigation into this matter has been started. As soon as information about the incident was received, the District Elementary Education Officer gave instructions to immediately stop serving mid-day meals in all schools.
ISKCON organization was providing mid-day meal to 377 students of classes 1st to 8th and 77 students of classes 6th to 8th, who were affected by this ban. Due to sudden stoppage of food supply, children in many schools remained hungry, due to which disappointment was seen on the faces of the children.

The incident came to light when the supply team was delivering food to Khedikidaula government school. As soon as the employees opened the food containers, rats were found in them. It was fortunate that this food did not reach the children and the supply was stopped in time. Many complaints have already been registered regarding the mid-day meal supplied by ISKCON.
