Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir was one of the first cricketers to react to this incident. Responding via social media, he said, “Delhi blast My condolences to those who died. May God give strength to the families of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
Expressing grief, former India opener Shikhar Dhawan said, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the dead in the car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Everyone stay safe and take care.”
Fast bowler Ishant Sharma also reacted to this tragic incident. He also wrote through social media, “I pray for peace in Delhi and strength to all. There is an unbreakable spirit in our city. Together we will emerge stronger.”
Former cricketer Aakash Chopra also wished everyone to stay healthy. At the same time, former Team India captain Anil Kumble also prayed to give strength to the families of the deceased in this sad time.
