Air pollution in the national capital Delhi has reached dangerous category and it has been declared bad for human health. Now Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also expressed concern about Delhi’s pollution and said that Delhi is extremely polluted. Speaking at a book launch event, Nitin Gadkari said, ‘I stayed in Delhi for two days and I got the infection.’

Releasing the book titled ‘My Idea of Nation First – Redefine Unalloyed Nationalism’, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, ‘I am the Transport Minister, 40 percent pollution is caused by us. This is because fossil fuels are petrol and diesel. How many times Sudarshan ji used to say that the farmer of this country will become an energy provider and not a food provider. Air will become the fuel donor. Now everything has been done, but no one is ready to have faith.
Nitin Gadkari said, ‘Even today we are spending Rs 22 lakh crore on the import of crude oil. Pollution is happening in the country, what kind of nationalism is this? If there is any real nationalism today, it lies in reducing imports and increasing exports. Can’t we make India self-reliant in alternative fuels and biofuels?

Gadkari said, ‘I have come here in a vehicle running on 100 percent ethanol. Generates 60 percent electricity and gives an average of Rs 25 per kilometer. Pollution is zero. We are making hydrogen, making electric vehicles.

‘The country is on the way to becoming a hydrogen energy exporter’
At a recent event in New Delhi, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said, ‘The country is on its way to becoming an exporter of hydrogen energy within the next decade. Hydrogen can play an important role in shipping, aviation, industry and smart transportation. The government is taking strict steps to reduce logistics costs, he said. He said the government is in the process of building 28 access-controlled expressways across the country. The Union Minister also informed that the government is investing Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand crore in road development projects in the Delhi-NCR region.
