The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to the Indian producer to boycott Turkey. Ashok Pandit, Chief Advisor of Federation FWICE, has written a letter and requested all Indian filmmakers to think before choosing Turkey as a shooting location. He has cited Türkiye’s increasing support for Pakistan in matters affecting India’s national interests.
The nation comes first in the letter
The letter states- ‘FWICE has always been adamant that the nation is the first. In view of recent developments and Türkiye’s continuous stand in support of Pakistan, which has created concerns about security and national security. We believe that it is not in the interest of the Indian film industry to invest or collab in any form that indirectly supports or benefits such a country.
Türkiye’s stance has been seen not only diplomatically but also on different international forums, where it has taken the opposite of India’s sovereign interests. Since this industry lies deeply in Indian soil and culture, we cannot be indifferent to the dignity or security actions of our country.
We appeal to all the production houses of the Indian film fraternity, line producers, actor, directors and crew members to stand solidarily with the country and boycott Turkey for film shooting until the country rethinks its diplomatic attitude and joins with the principles of mutual respect and non-interference. ‘
Let us know that after the Pahalgam attack, the Film Federation FWICE announced to ban Pakistani artists from India. Ashok Pandit, Chief Advisor of Federation FWICE, said- India’s artists will no longer work with Pakistani actors, singers or technicians. It has also been clarified in the statement that this decision will also be applicable on the film Abir Gulal along with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
