First trade deal of IPL 2026, Shardul Thakur left Lucknow and joined this team

Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur will play for Mumbai Indians next season. Thakur remained unsold in the mega auction last year, but Lucknow Super Giants included him in their team in place of injured Mohsin Khan. Mumbai Indians have included Thakur in their squad by making a trade deal with LSG.

IPL issued a statement saying that Shardul Thakur has been included in their team by Mumbai Indians by paying an amount of Rs 2 crore. Thakur has received the same amount as was given to him by Lucknow Super Giants last year.

It is being told that Lucknow Super Giants is looking for a foreign fast bowling all-rounder. In such a situation, with the intention of increasing the purse before the auction, LSG has decided to release Shardul Thakur.

It is a shocking fact that just a day before, Ravichandran Ashwin had confirmed Shardul Thakur’s joining Mumbai Indians during a discussion on his YouTube channel. But he later deleted the video, removed the statement given on Shardul Thakur from the video and uploaded it again. The interesting thing is that Mumbai Indians have shared the same clip of Ashwin on social media, in which he had talked about Thakur going to MI.

Will Arjun Tendulkar go to Lucknow?

Meanwhile, it is being told that Mumbai Indians can trade Arjun Tendulkar with LSG. According to media reports, the Lucknow team wants to prepare a foreign all-rounder as well as a backup option. Tendulkar’s fee is currently Rs 30 lakh, which will not have much impact on the purse of Lucknow Super Giants. It is being told that LSG can enter the auction with a purse of Rs 30 crore.
