An encounter took place between security personnel and Naxalites on Thursday in the forest of Pujari Kanker and Marudbaka of Usur block of Bijapur district. Security forces have recovered the bodies of 12 Naxalites killed in the encounter. This number may increase further.

Soldiers are carrying out a major operation against the Naxalites of three districts on the border of Bijapur and Telangana. On Thursday, a joint team of security personnel had set out on an anti-Naxal operation. The firing started in the forest of South Bijapur at around 9 in the morning. The search operation is still going on.
It is being told that Naxalites were holding a big meeting. In this, hard core Naxalites from Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana cadre were involved in the meeting. There is news of rewarded Naxalites also being killed. The police conducted this encounter based on information. The Naxalites could not escape due to the dense forest. All the soldiers are said to be safe.
Bodies of 12 Naxalites have been recovered. How many Naxalites have been killed in this encounter? This will become completely clear only after the soldiers return. The force has again started searching since Friday morning. At present, the search operation is going on. More than 1500 soldiers from three districts have surrounded the area.
