TV actress Esha Singh’s ‘Naagin 7’ is going to start on Colors channel. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Isha Singh, who entered the Naagin franchise after leaving Bigg Boss 18, shared her journey, family support, bonding with co-stars like Priyanka and Namik, the difference between Mumbai-Bhopal and the lessons learned to stay away from negativity. Here are some key excerpts from the conversation..

Question: Naagin is such a big franchise. This fact came to light while being in Bigg Boss 18. Couldn’t tell at that time. When you found out for the first time, what was your feeling?

answer: Colors is like home for me. Such a big franchise, on top of that Ekta Ma’am’s show and Balaji Telefilms, everything is perfect. When the offer came, I thought why not try, the character was completely different. Naagin shooting opened new opportunities.

Question: Fans are wondering whether you will do Khatron Ke Khiladi?

answer: Had a very bad experience in Khatron Ke Khiladi last year. There are no plans right now, but sometimes I just say ‘never’. Even before Bigg Boss, I had refused, but I did it. Maybe next year I will be doing snake-scorpion stunts.

Question: It has been a great start. Priyanka has also been in Bigg Boss, Namik Paul is also there, they are amazing actors. How was your bonding with them? How was your shooting experience?

answer: It was very good. Not just these two, all the other actors were also very nice people. Priyanka has started looking like my sister, there is a sister-sister bond in the show as well as off-screen. She is like family, a very beautiful person, a lovely girl. We both are very attached. I have gained many good friends from this show, and I will always be thankful to have a true friend like Priyanka in Naagin 7.

Question: You are looking amazing. Priyanka’s look is also fantastic, because she has to play a double role. How was the reaction of parents, brother and Rudraksh?

answer: His reaction is yet to be seen. I’ve only seen a few clips of the first episode, but people have seen them. I am waiting to see how he felt. Rudraksh always makes fun of me, he even made fun of me in Bigg Boss. But he is very supportive and gives honest feedback. How are you looking? You are looking like that. His reaction matters a lot.

Question: Coming to Mumbai from a city like Bhopal at such a young age, he achieved so much. How do you see your journey? What lesson did you learn?

answer: I learned a lot and even broke some old habits. This journey made me strong and confident. Now I care less about people, I only listen to good things.

That 16 year old girl doesn’t look 27 today. Family, especially my mother, kept me grounded. Settling in another city also teaches a lot.

Question: Bhopal is said to be a very peaceful, beautiful and dull city. It is a city of lakes. Whereas Mumbai is a fast-paced place, where everyone is running somewhere or the other. What do you think is the difference between the two cities?

answer: There is a lot of peace and tranquility in Bhopal. Mumbai is my workplace. I have been living here for years, so I have fallen in love with this city. It is said that if you adopt Mumbai, it also adopts you. I think, I adopted the city and the city loved me equally. I’m so thankful I have a home here. Now I call it my city.

Question: Gave and achieved so much in the industry in a decade. What would parents and other people think? Seeing you 10 years ago, his eyes would have become moist and bright, wouldn’t it?

answer: Feels very good. All this happened because of the parents. I worked hard, but family is what keeps you on the right path and focused. My parents are everything to me.

Question: You must have learned a lot from Bigg Boss also?

answer: Yes, learned a lot. What that show taught in 3 months might not be found anywhere else. There you learn to manage situations, people and stress. While coming out, you become so confident that you put on a shield. It doesn’t matter now. The things which earlier used to affect and make one cry, now do not do anything.

Question: No matter what the world says, how are you able to maintain your poise?

answer: If I let what people say affect me, I will go mad. There are more evildoers in every field, who are ready to pull you down. So set your boundaries, I will listen to only this much, cut the rest. Now people’s negativity stays away from me, I am happy with myself.

Question: Your two shows are coming back-to-back on the weekend. ‘Laughter Chefs’ So amazing things are going on, and so is the ‘Naagin’ pair. How was this experience? Ever thought this would happen on prime time?

answer: God has given more than dreams. Always grateful for this. ‘Laughter Chefs’ got so much love, ‘Nagin’ will also get it. Will meet you in ‘Nagin’ on Saturday-Sunday from 8 to 9 pm and in ‘Last Chefs’ from 9 to 10 pm.

Question: Your loyalty is amazing, do you keep working with your old co-stars again and again?

answer: My pairing with Avinash is so strong that the world cannot separate us unless we tear our hair out. Perhaps the last shots of Last Chefs will be hair-teasers.

Question: If you had any superpower, which one would you choose and what would you do with it?

answer: I will bite people by becoming a snake, then I will become a human and see whether I enjoyed it or not.

Question: But you are not like that?

answer: No friend, I am not like that at all. People think I am strong headed, but actually I am a very emotional person. I become very emotional for my people. I don’t care much about the world, but yes for my loved ones.
