Due to air pollution, the Delhi Government announces work from home and compensation for laborers.

The fourth phase of GRAP, with severe restrictions, is in force in the national capital due to increasing air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. In view of this serious situation, the Delhi government has taken an important decision to provide financial assistance to the affected labourers. Financial assistance of ₹ 10,000 will be provided to registered laborers directly in their bank accounts.

In view of the alarming increase in pollution levels, several stringent measures have been taken under the fourth phase of GRAP. Delhi government has made ‘work from home’ mandatory for 50% of employees in all government and private offices.

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra confirmed this and said that Grape 4 is in force and the government understands the difficulties of the workers. He informed that financial assistance of ₹ 10,000 will be given to registered laborers. This amount will be directly transferred to their accounts, so that they can earn their livelihood in this difficult period. The aim of this initiative is to provide relief to daily wage laborers whose income is affected due to stoppage of work due to pollution.

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 326 on Wednesday afternoon, which is in the very poor category.
