The release date of late actor Dharmendra’s last film ‘Ikkis’ has changed. Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Agastya Nanda starrer this film was earlier scheduled to release in theaters on December 25 but now it will be released on January 1, 2026.
Actually, the makers have taken this decision considering the box office record of Dhurandhar. While sharing the new poster of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on X- ‘Breaking news… Wise move by Dinesh Vijan.
The release date of Twenty One has been changed to January 1, 2026. As soon as the release date of Baahubali 2 was fixed in 2017, the date of Hindi Medium was wisely postponed.
In the year 2024, Chhaava changed its release date to 2025 to avoid direct clash with Pushpa 2.
Changing the dates of Hindi Medium and Chhaava benefited them and both finally got a chance to perform without any interruption.
Dinesh Vijan has done this for the third time. Twenty One, which was originally scheduled to release on 25 December 2025, will now be released a week later on 1 January 2026.
Dhurandhar is making waves at the box office and there are no signs of its pace slowing down. Also, Hollywood film Avatar will be released on a large scale in India this Friday i.e. 19th December.
‘Ikkis’ is based on the story by Arun Khetarpal
Ikkis is a war drama film based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. Arun Khetrapal was India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra winner, who showed extraordinary bravery in the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
In the film, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda is playing the role of Arun Khetarpal, while Dharmendra is playing his father. This will be the first theatrical release film of Agastya Nanda. Before this, he has been seen in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’, which was released on Netflix.
Dharmendra also wrote poetry for his last film ‘Ikkis’.
The film Ikkis is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Its script has been written by Sriram Raghavan, Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti.
