What is there in the 1975 mantras of Madhyandin Shukla Yajurveda Samhita?

Its first chapter begins with the process of cutting a branch of the Palash tree and using it for havan. The very first mantra calls for obtaining food, becoming brilliant, attaining progressive powers, becoming a protector of the motherland and increasing the number of gentlemen.

In which chapter is the essence of philosophy of life?

The 40th chapter of Madhyandin branch of Shukla Yajurveda is purely knowledge-oriented. Its name is ‘Ishavasyopanishad’. It has 17 mantras, which emphasize remembrance, strength, discipline, self-consciousness and action. Know the essence of these mantras…

1. Use what God has given you

Whatever is inanimate or animate in this universe is under the authority of God. Consume only what is left and handed over by him. Don’t be greedy for more. Because whose is all this? It does not belong to any person but only to ‘Ish’.

2. Discipline does not cause disorder

Pray for a long life while doing your work. Disciplined actions do not make a person suffer from disorders. There is no other path to ultimate well-being other than living a disorder-free life.

3. What happens if discipline is violated

People who violate discipline are known as ‘Asurya’ i.e. those who depend only on the power of body and senses and ignore good conscience. They remain surrounded by intense darkness and ignorance throughout their lives. People who violate the instructions of the soul i.e. self-consciousness go to the same dark worlds even after leaving the body.

4. Memory, power and action

This life i.e. existence is made up of the combination of five elements like air, fire etc. and self-consciousness. The body is ultimately going to be destroyed. Therefore, remember God, remember your power and remember the deeds you have done.

5. Nature of truth

The form of truth is covered with a shiny, attractive vessel of gold. When the cover is removed, then it becomes clear that the man in the form of Aditya is the same person in his own form. ‘Om’ itself is present in the form of Brahma.
