The weather patterns changed this morning in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR. Due to strong thunderstorms and heavy rains, life was disturbed. At the same time, the rain in Delhi-NCR, troubled by the scorching heat, gave relief to the people. Trees and electric poles fell in many parts of Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad.

In the morning, Delhi-NCR received heavy rain with strong winds. The Meteorological Department had expressed the rainfall amid thunderstorms. Due to continuous heavy rains, the streets of Delhi have been flooded.

The process of drizzle in Delhi started after 3 am. Drizzle and rain started in the first ITO, Mandi House and some areas of Central Delhi. After this, the winds rose and there was strong rain with thunderstorms amidst the darkness.

According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rain are estimated from May 1 to May 7. For this reason, the temperature is likely to reach 34 degrees. Due to the effect of western disturbance, weather changes will be seen from the night of May 1 to the morning of May 4. On May 5 and 6, there will be thunderstorms and cloud thunder activities in the evening. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert of rain and thunderstorms from May 1 to 2.

The route of three flights was converted to Delhi airport on Friday morning due to thunderstorms and strong winds being disrupted and more than 200 flights were delayed. Due to bad weather in Delhi, one flight was diverted to Ahmedabad and two flights were diverted to Jaipur and several other flights were delayed.
